Since the disaster of the new APP I have lost all my playlist which I have put together over a ten year period or more. When I select imported play lists message, the reply is, no selection available, also I can no longer import any new tracks from I tunes it’s a total disaster.

It’s now 7 months since the broken new app was installed in that time there has been various announcements from Sony that these issues will be rectified -my question is when?. it looks like for the first Christmas in many years there will be no Christmas music  in our house!!

I have been reading the community on a regular basis, looking for many solutions, and there must be hundreds if not thousands similar comments “Why can’t SONOS re install the original APP that worked perfect until they sort out the  issues with the new APP?”   CAN SONOS ANSWER THAT? & also

WHEN WILL THE PL. ISSUES BE RESOLVED.

Can you see your playlists on the Windows or Mac version of the Sonos app?

Hi @jamesneil

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Sorry to hear of this issue you are having with your playlists.

I can’t be sure, but it sounds like you are referring to iTunes playlists rather than Sonos playlists (those created with the Sonos app)? If so, there hasn’t been any issues with these, and whatever issue you are experiencing is local to your system, so please don’t wait on an update to fix things - there won’t be one.

It is most likely an issue with the xml file - Sonos looks for a “iTunes Music Library.xml" or "iTunes Library.xml" file and pulls the playlists from it. You may need to manually export this file from iTunes, but I recommend exporting individual .m3u files for each playlist.

If you don’t know what any of this means, don’t worry - with a remote desktop session, we can fix all this for you. I recommend you get in touch with our technical support team who have tools at their disposal that will allow them to do this for you, and perform further troubleshooting if needed.

I hope this helps.

I have the same issue with playlists on the new app.  As every user knows the knew app generally destroyed the experience of sonos and it has became the most expensive radio streaming device in the world. I have 3 different sonos systems - home, work and lake.  I downgraded my home system to the old app and have may old playlists.  On the other systems I have no playlists nor any way to create playlists, etc. and unfortunately with those 2 systems they are mixed with new equipment versions so cannot  downgrade those without eliminating some more gear which I have already done.

We used to pass the phone around the campfire with our guests and each person pick a song and pass it on.  Save it as a playlist for that family and add to it over the years.  Now you spend more time trying to find songs and feel like a full time DJ or you have to let the music services shove at you whatever the algorithm is feeling at the moment or listen to a sonos station repeat songs through the day.  Plus now we get to tell those guests to never buy Sonos.  Like I said, the most expensive radio streamer ever invented - you pretty much listen to stations with a blue tooth speaker using a music app and get the same experience now.

I agree with DpaigeH. I cannot make a playlist or see my old ones. I am not a very tech savvy sonos user but I have to say without the ability to make playlist the system offers very little value over just buying google enabled speakers and streaming to all of them from your music app. Which I would do but I have 3k invested in all of this sonos equipment. Not sure what to do.

I read you can downgrade to the previous sonos controller? Does someone know how to do that?
