1 month ago one (only one) TuneIn station stopped playing. Customer Support seems unable to resolve the issue after umpteen emails and two case numbers (01696742 & 01674405). Info exchanged (including secondary & very minor questions about Sonos Radio):

  •  Reset my router. I reset my Bridge. I closed and reopened Sonos. I restarted my PC. I have simple wireless WiFi setup - Bridge, Speakers, Controller - no Alexis or similar

  • (Response to “Case Resolved” email received) I have not seen a response, so can’t consider my case resolved. Please provide more information about the resolution information you have.

    have you tried playing different radio stations on your speaker and do they play okay

    Yes, I have & no problems w/other TuneIn Stations.

    KPFT site streaming option works w/o URL .

    I thought if I removed and reentered KPFT that might be a fix.

  • Went to “My Radio Stations” and reentered it there.
  • Selected it as a “Favorite”.
  • Selected “Add a new station”, entered URL https://tunein.com/radio/KPFT-90.1-s20327/
  • Entered station name KPFT  
  • Entered it again as KPFT-90.1 (like URL)

  • Still no KPFT.
    Shut Sonos down to see if opening it again would do the trick. It didn’t.
    KPFT plays fine directly from TuneIn and my Sony radio .
    I thought if I removed and reentered KPFT that might be a fix.

    Just sent a diagnostic: it’s with another local FM station (88.7 KUHF) playing. I went to the one not playing (90.1 KPFT) and chose for it to play. Of course, it didn’t start, so what you received is maybe not what you need.

    Turned off 88.7 and  selected 90.1 and Play. It didn’t & I sent a second diagnostic. Your confirmation number is: 2089771674. That may be what you actually need. 

    Your other requests were buried in my TMI original email, where I tried to give you everything you’d need:

    - The Radio Station you're trying to play

    90.1 KPFT

    - The URL to the station on TuneIn

    https://tunein.com/radio/KPFT-90.1-s20327/ 

    - A diagnostic from when you try to play it

  • The same information is repeated through today – trying to play it via TuneIn (where all other stations play just fine) and via Local Radio Station.

    Also have tried option of resetting controller. 

    Just submitted another diagnostics (in case it reveals anything the earlier one didn’t)

  • KPFT DJ responded to Facebook chat that since streaming station works fine on my PC, it appears to be a Sonos problem.

One point to note - the URL you added is not a streaming URL but a web page - there is no chance of Sonos playing that.

Bruce: I copied & pasted your link into edge browser and got message “First, add this playlist to your music collection”. Will try that later. 

This is the request I received from Sonos IT (I followed up today w/email to KPFT):
“ I can confirm KPFT does not work on my end as well.  I can also see the stream link they have provided you starts with an "HTTPS".  This stream format is the issue as Sonos would need an "HTTP" stream (without the last S).

Likely, the stream may have changed recently thus causing this to stop functioning.  Would you be able to inquire in that thread to see if KPFT may be able to provide an alternative stream link that is in "HTTP://" (again without the S)?  If so, please send me the stream link here and I will test as well. “

I have emailed the station to see if they have an “HTTP//” stream link.

I just went and looked at the websites you linked to for 10 seconds, and checked the URL for the stream they provided. But 10 seconds is not a lot of time. You might be able to find a  standard http link there, if you poked around.

I am having the same problem. KPFT plays fine on the Android Auto TuneIn app, but does not play at all on the Sonos TuneIn app. The URL below works on Google Chrome, but does not work if I add it as a custom station in the Sonos TuneIn app. Please help fix this Sonos!

I bought the system specifically for the ability to stream KPFT, the fact that I found out after purchasing that it does not work is a real big let down. Is there a solution for this or should I return it?  

Check with KPFT and find out what radio streaming service they use? There is almost a dozen of them these days, it seems, and just because any particular station isn’t on TuneIn doesn’t mean it isnt on one of the others. 

The other option would be to contact TuneIn, and ask them why they are not providing the stream to Sonos. I’m wondering if there’s been a change recently that TuneIn hasn’t ‘published” to thei Sonos connection, since it’s playing fine on the TuneIn app. 

Is this Pacifica Radio New York?  (It would help if people gave more details about the station they want).

Just tried again this morning and it worked! Issue has been resolved. For the record this is KPFT in Houston, TX.

Most likely an issue with the radio station’s server that is used to feed either TuneIn, or the TuneIn feed for Sonos. It can be separate servers than what feeds their web presence.

Same problem with me, different radio station: http://pbb.laurentgarnier.com:8000/pbb128

The link works when played in a browser, works on the android tunein app as an added URL but doesnt work when played on the android tunein app as a ‘searched for’ radio station. Doesnt play on sonos at all (incl the favourited added URL).

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!
