I think I’ve arrived at the source of this mess. Sonos decided to invest in AI technology to write and test their code. The “AI” decided that what it generated met it’s needs and gave the human element at Sonos the go ahead to release it.
So goes the foray into AI.
I've just invested in a JBL Flip 6 off amazon. It cost me under £100 and guess what? IT PLAYS MUSIC!
I've boxed up the SONOS ONE and will never use it again. I'm done.

Couldn’t agree more with the severe downgrade of this app. Please bring back the old version that was so intuitive and worked with ease. Do better Sonos.
Not happy with new app or features. When I say “Alexa” it no longer makes the confirmation sound so i don’t know if it heard me. And pretty much everything everyone else said is spot on. Sonos went public and instantly we see shortcuts and mission shift to profit over customer.
I keep returning here to see if anyone has figured out how to deal with this dreadful app. But no, everyone is having issues with randomness, connectivity and just general shi…er, lousiness. I keep getting ads from Sonos encouraging me to buy new speakers at a discount. News flash, Sonos…I’m not buying anything from you at this point. What I have purchased from you no longer works as intended thanks to your “upgraded” app. And with no way to go back to the previous, smoothly working app, I join the chorus here in asking you to fix this app before you lose your entire customer base. Which is likely already starting.
If you read the comm from the CEO he basically takes no responsibility. He just says they should have communicated the change was coming better. Which is a total cop out…that has nothing to do with the issues. If they don’t want to listen to their customers that’s their problem. I am never buying another Sonos product again and neither are my friends who all feel the same way. If other competitors are reading this board then this is your chance to grab market share.
This app update is HORRENDOUS. Fix ASAP. Connection issues, grouping issues, layout makes no sense. Been a customer for a long time, own about 10 products. Thinking of dumping them all.

Don’t want to pile on unnecessarily, but your product release process, testing, market validation is amazingly poor. Forcing an update when it’s unusable is criminal.
My system keeps dropping out and re-starting new music. If you try to change the volume of one zone, it hangs.

Literally the worst piece of software I’ve ever used. I’ve spent many thousands on Sonos products and they’re virtually useless. Class action imminent surely.

I expect the redesign was to support the new headphones they're trying to sell.
I think they've taken their brand loyalty for granted because after this latest issue caused by the app (there have been prior ones) as well as a sharp decline in customer service over the past decade, I can't imagine ever buying another Sonos product.
Disabling 5ghz in your router settings will resolve all reliability / connection issues. The only thing it wont fix is all the missing features.

The most annoying is that my music continually stops and goes and when it goes again it is another song. I can’t turn the music off….just so many things it’s totally annoying.

On board with everyone else complaining. Huge error by Sonos. The features they tout are not worth all the bugs they created. Frankly, I liked the old app much more than this one so the new features, I could do without. Now, if I can actually find what I want to listen to, I can’t! It takes minutes to pair devices and get music going. And if I can get that going, forget about changing volume. It takes forever for the adjustment to happen if at all. Need to stop the music quickly to take a call? Once again, if it works at all, you are waiting forever. Don’t tell me it’s the wifi. I had a great orbi mesh system on the old app and it worked fine. I got this upgraded and all this started happening. Got the newest 5g mesh system from orbi and no better. It’s the Sonos app. Get it together on the app side. I am about to integrate the in ceiling speakers to a renovation and am actively looking for alternatives even though I have 16 Sonos devices in the house.

Should’ve read the reviews before purchasing, I just got a Beam gen 2 from Costco this week and the app is worthless to say the least… I’ll hold onto the unit for now but if this doesn’t get fixed in 30 days I’m returning it to Costco

My entire system has now crashed and won’t play anything. Sonos has truly screwed the pooch here. How do I fix literally everything so my major investment will finally work? I’m so pissed I literally want to blow these idiots up. Thanks for fucking up a system that pretty much worked perfectly up until now!!!

I read the article interviewing the CEO, and his comments completely missed the mark and made it sound like the problem was on the users part because they can’t adapt to change
I have literally lost a number of days on the phone to Sonos, I’ve added up the hours.
Same old nonsense, ungroup, reset, router off and on again… then the next day the thing isn’t working again.
I’m over a grand in to this nonsense, it isn’t fit for purpose.
Someone mentioned a class action on here, I AM IN!! I have been ripped off.
