Same here. Returned from holiday to be forced to update the app. And voila, nothing works. Speakers worked flawlessly since day one and now they don’t connect to my network. And can’t be detected by the app. Even worse they don’t even work Bluetooth connection either.
Did they do away with the dual mono option? I want the port to output mono, not stereo. I cant find the setting
Not sure. It’s not on the list of fixes scheduled for release, but I can’t see it being eliminated. Probably a good question for a Sonos mod. Too bad the AMA was filled with abuse and invective (not to mention the obvious legal department parsed half-assed answers), this question is one they probably would have answered.
Throwing my vote in the ring for a rollback. Admit the misstep, keep us whole while fixing this thing, then launch it when fully baked.
An absolute atrocity of an app. Worst UI experience in years. They need to roll that thing back.
Let me add to this… I can no longer add a song to the queue, I have to replace the entire queue. Also, I can’t add a song to a playlist. The new update needs to be addressed immediately
Worse update to a modern app i have ever had the misfortune of using!!
Constantly says not signed in have to restart app multiple Times, sonos roam Will not connect after multiple times of reinstalling both app and resetting speaker yet will connect to my phones bluetooth without error.
When expanding the sonos groups it says they are conected but no sound comes out of the newly added speakers, about 15 mins later they decide to work which is really really poor
Search is rubbish, and wont allow me to create a playlist easily like the old app, had to google how to find so many simple features ive basically given up now.
i cant belive the money invested in this sytem that you get treated like this as a customer, surely there should be some sort of compensation for time spent/wasted and time lost not being able to use it, i was missold a dream, all I want To do after a long day is play good music without all this stress!
It’s awful. I literally spent 30 minutes trying to play an album the other day. Is it possible to go backwards?
Dear Sonos,
I have been a Sonos lover for close to 20 years. We have gone from a few play ones to an entire house wired and wireless Sonos. The latest app update is such a disappointment and is truly frustrating. Previous daily seamless use has been replaced by a maddening experience. I am beyond bummed. Please go back to last week- it worked great! It is awful now. Awful…
Please roll this back to prior version. Your developer, and whomever approved the rollout, should be releived of duty.
Ditto to all the above complaints
Literally the worst piece of software I’ve ever used. I’ve spent many thousands on Sonos products and they’re virtually useless. Class action imminent surely.
insanely insanely bad.
fire someone
There is older APK:s to download. Remove the new, install apk. Shut off auto upgrade both in app and in app settings on the phone.
Totally agree with other posts here. This is unacceptable. I have a Sonos five stereo pair in my office. Either the sound just cuts out or the right speaker only cuts out and no sound. The song (as indicated on the Sonos App ) is still playing but no sound. I have done everything.,.. reboot router , reboot the speakers, etc. and it keeps happening. What gives here SONOS? My system (and I have speakers in almost every room) was always working perfectly with no issues before this update. This is BS
what will this do? Is this the old version?
You aren’t going to get a rollback. Sonos released the app half-baked in order to get the headphones out before the end of the fiscal year. A rollback would mean not only did they admit a screw up (and it was a screw up), but they would have to cancel the headphones release, missing out on the projected income. So a rollback just ain’t happening, might as well stop asking for one.
Headphone revenue? I think not. Time to flood social media with the ineptitude of Sonos from a development and testing standpoint. If you purchase the headphones and experience issues don’t say you weren’t forewarned.

What if I removed the Sonos five pair from my Sonos system completely and then add bak in. Would this theoretically work or ??? I am afraid I would risk bricking the fives and completely losing use of them.
Nightmare Application! Please take some responsibility for this and at least tell us you are working on this?? Hello Sonos? Is anyone there?
Please Fix the Volume controls!!! It’s making me CRAZY!!!
It’s sooooo squirrelly. Nothing works together. Huge lag.
Difficult to group, etc. Etc.
HELP!!
Absolute garbage App. Needs to be sorted immediately.
Also having constant connection issues and I use a wired Sonos boost, please roll back to the previous app.
Totally agreed, it's basically unusable. Prior to the upgrade I started having problems with Qobuz skipping songs all the time. Anyone have any idea why that might be happening? I was hoping the new upgrade would help that. But now it's happening with other apps as well.
Does anyone actually try using this app before releasing it?
Go back to the previous one. It worked well.
I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment with the latest update of your app. Since the update, I have encountered numerous issues that have severely disrupted my experience:
- Speaker Detection Issues: The app intermittently fails to detect my speakers. They appear and disappear at random, making it impossible to manage them effectively.
- Grouping Problems: When I try to split the music in one room from the group, the remaining speakers stop working and cannot be re-grouped. This has rendered the multi-room functionality unusable.
- Playback Failures: None of the speakers will play music after attempting to manage them through the app.
- App Connectivity: The app frequently loses connection with the speakers and is unable to detect them again.
Moreover, the support wait times are exceedingly long, often over 70 minutes, and the chat support has not been helpful in resolving these issues. This situation is unacceptable and has caused significant inconvenience.
I urge you to provide an option to revert to the previous version of the app until these critical bugs are resolved. Additionally, I would appreciate a more responsive and effective support system to address these urgent issues.
Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter.
I would love to know how this app got signed off before it went live? Utterly astounding! If I could return my Arc, 2 x Play 5 (3rd gen) my Sub and 2 x Sl Play 1s I would in a heart beat.
Yes I would return mine too I AM FINISHED WITH SONOS AFTER 15 YEARS. My hardware is useless now and I cannot control anything beyond volume.

I don’t understand how they got it so wrong. I work in software development and this is beyond realms of reason. Something is amiss.

How did they get it soooo wrong????I’ve relied on ease of use with Sonos for years and now I can’t figure out how to play my music in the rooms I want. ugh!!!!
