Apart from the listed problems with music libraries, sleep, alarm, wifi channel options missing and Rova issues, I’ve noticed another, forgetting Sonos systems.

This is when i leave my home system and go to work which we have Sonos, when i opened my app with the old app, this would seamlessly connect to the work system, then when i get home seamlessly connect to my home system and so on.

Now the new app requires me to ‘join new system’ every time i go to work and come home. It doesn’t remember or seamlessly change between the 2 systems. I also tried this when going to my parents home and brothers who have Sonos. I am on their local networks and the same issue. I have to join their system, then i get home and have to join my system.

Too many bugs on the new app, and Sonos should allow us to download the old app until they sort out all the problems. Im sure once the bugs are ironed out, this new app will be a better experience. I have noticed when it is working, it is quicker on connection when opening the app.

Poor testing by Sonos, i expected better from a brand like this.

Wow this is terrible and I am so PO’d at these people right now for releasing such an hack job app. New app does not recognize my system BUT the old app on my Ipad does and works great through which I play Pandora and others.  Seems like a pretty basic thing for the app to recognize you system, otherwise what’s the point.  I was a Sonos zealot until now. Can you say Bose!!! But who has the time and money for that. I turned off automatic updates in the old app on my Ipad that system works. Hopefully that will keep the app from updating to this new piece of trash.

Hey Sonos, let us download the old app!!!

Over the last few years I have noticed one of the best things about the Sonos system is not having to use the app! I generally use Spotify integration, without that I would have ditched Sonos a long time ago!

Please Sonos, sort your app out it's a disgrace!

Same problem as the OP. It worked in one house, but not in the other. I had to delete and start over to use it at the second house. It used to connect the Wifi and work between locations. I’ve had it. I don’t buy products so I can chat with bots or wait on hold for an hour to be told to hard reset everything. Done, done, done.

When I open the app, I see a sea of grey icons (where it would usually show recently played or favorites) and a bar with the message that it’s unable to load.  This means I cannot search for music and can only play from the last queue I had been listening to.  There are only grey empty circles or boxes where there used to be icons.  How am I supposed to get around this?  I can only listen to Joji for so many hours.

Hi Tina! Are you running the new app on Android?

I’ve seen the exact same “grayed out” icons under Sonos Favorites with the new app on Android, while the icons in question work aok with the new app on iOS.

If you are unfortunate enough to be on Android, then you’re lucky enough to be able to rollback to 16.1 (via apkmirror, as described elsewhere on the forums).

Last week my Sonos app icon appeared black, so I checked it out and found it a total jumble on the main dashboard.  Completely blindsided, I literally could not make sense of it. I also lost my surround speakers (Sonos One's). I now have no way of balancing my Beam, Sub-mini, and surrounds. Any of it. Sometimes the Queue plays a different program simultaneously.  Really?? This is a surprisingly shameful rollout for sure.  Amazing.

When I adjust volume with grouped rooms it no longer allows me to adjust the volume individually but all the rooms at once which now means I have to have all loud or all quite and not at different volumes

 @John_367

Open the build Group dialog. You may be able to individually adjust rooms here.

This is extremely annoying.  I have a system at home,  work,  vacation home, parents and other family.  Normally was seamless transition.  Now takes extra time to locate new system, click through menus just to even connect.  On top of that,  linking speakers into groups is an issue and usually will not work and just give up.   This is extremely sad situation for a system that used to work exceptionally.

Foe those with sleep timer issues i enabled the sonos voice control and was able to "hey sonos, turn off music in 2hrs" and it accepted the command. May be able to set the alarm as well. Not sure yet.

Hi all, my new app also had greyed out Favorites and Recenty played. The solution is to go to your app permissions in your phone and delete all data/permissions/cache.

When you restart your app it will look for the sonos systeem again and you need to login into you account. Everything works now.

Same for me.  It's ridiculous

My services such as Spotify do not show up on the app. Cannot figure out how to get it to show up. Cannot rename it. But when I try to add it. It says it’s already there.

This could be the worst update in the world of updates. Just garbage. My biggest complaint is not being able to add songs to a playlist?!? That's literally the first thing I tried. Did the engineers ever use or test this app before rolling it out?? WTF Sonos

This worked!!!!!!

I can no longer connect to my system.

Just loop around to add new system screen in app.

We were on holiday last week and attached to a system in the flat. At home.and tried to change what was being played and discovered no connection.

Does anyone else have this problem?

No Pam, the new App is connecting to the Sonos system here on our home WiFi network. Screenshots attached of what we see in both new Apps, using an iPad controller in portrait mode.

All our devices/services are working.

Updated this app, wow. Horrible. My speakers no longer play music at all. Did the app reset thing, that didn’t work. Restarted everything. That didn’t work. Why would they release an “update” that turns my thousands of dollars worth of speakers into worthless pieces of $hit?? Sonos, please fix this immediately, and in the future, test things out before you release garbage to the public. This is unacceptable.

Quite terrible release so far… can't add tracks to queue, can't edit playlists, had to re-introduce my music library. Glitchy and slow pretty much in general. Needed more testing time with this one Sonos! Bad form!

This is what the community here seem to think is the likely update schedule (subject to any changes of course). It’s now a case of waiting patiently, or using the Sonos Desktop Controller App, or maybe 3rd-Party options if you perhaps can’t wait for the features mentioned.

  • Screen reader for visually impaired customers: May 21
  • Adding and editing alarms: May 21
  • Adding to queue and playing next: early June
  • Sleep timer: mid-June
  • Local music library search and playback: mid-June
  • Update Wi-Fi settings: mid-June

More updates?  Can hardly wait...🙄

Patiently waiting? F that I’m gonna continue rage posting, it’s very cathartic.

Thanks Ken.  I checked my Sonos app settings and there’s nothing disabled for the app (screenshots attached).  Is there another setting within the app itself I should be looking for?

It is always our Networks Fault… Come on!

I’m not much of an Android user @Moosewalk, but if it helps I did see one poster that had trouble with their pixel 8 phone and I think they sorted it by signing out their account, resetting the App cache, and resetting the App (in the App account preferences) then signing back in again.

Appreciate those are basic instructions for any Android App, but hope that might sort it for you.🤞

Someone’s on a continued mission then  ... 🤷‍♂️
