I downloaded the updated Sonos contoller App on only one iphone. The new app does not operate fully on some subscribed music sources. Another iphone and laptop computer in my household still has the functioning old Sonos app controller. Is there any way that the old Sonos contoller can be transferred and downloaded to the iphone containing the updated version?

Not really. Well technically you can but it’s quite involved. see here and make sure you understand what’s involved before attempting.

I am not that technically inclined to understand let alone follow these complicated instructions. But, I thank you for your input. The old controller functions perfectly across all of my music sources. In the past, I never had any hesitation with any of Sonos’ updates; but, with this introduction of the new malfunctioning controller, I will be certainly hesitant in downloading quickly any updates for a long while.
What the hell is wrong with your new app Sonos? Since downloading it the experience has been 100% negative. Clunky interface which is slow to respond. Music keeps dropping. Music keeps dropping out of rooms at random.
Please fall back to the old app and fix the new one in your own time.
My system is practically unusable
The new controller app is terrible… Slow and clunky is what was said in these comments and I would add “if it even works at all”!
Sonos, what did you do, if it’s not broken don’t “fix” it. Did you try to save some profit by outsourcing your controller development to some to lower cost and apparently lower quality developers?? Bad move, I was going to gift my kids some of your headsets but decided against it as I’m starting to feel lucky if I can listen to my home system. To be clear, it’s not just my system, my girlfriend’s system is doing the same thing. With the old controller I could go between hers and my home seamlessly, now I have to search for her system and join every time, and then wait for litterally minutes for it to respond. There have been time we had to Bluetooth to the Roam to hear music because the system said it was playing but we couldn’t hear anything from any of the Sonos devices!
I’ve had many Sonos products over the years, if you ever want me to buy another piece of your equipment fix it fast!! Used to rave about your system, currently very disappointed.
Why the hell won’t anyone from Sonos reply to any of the forums? It’s the same on Twitter/X. We all make mistakes so why won’t they just hold their hands up and fall back to the previous version. Got to be one of the biggest PR disasters ever.

There are thousands of posts here on the forum pertaining to the app. Number one, this is a user’s forum, and although Sonos occasionally posts here, it is not an official support site. Number two, even if it wasn’t a user’s forum, I don’t find it practical for Sonos to personally answer thousands of posts. Sonos does maintain a support page dedicated to the new app with an explanation, status of current release and estimated timeline for fixes right here:

Fair point I suppose, but considering the car crash that this release has been you’d think they might be just a little more active here and on the socials.

I would imagine the rampant (yet ultimately idle) threats of class action lawsuits has the legal department putting a gag on most public statements.
