I see under latest app version we have now the option to connect or share a music library on a pc or nas. Used to be able to connect my nas music content on the old Sonos apps but now after trying for an hour cannot get a connection. Any advice?

Make sure the NAS is configured to use either the SMBv2 or SMBv3 file sharing protocol. Then follow the instructions in this article:

Well I think my Synology NAS supports this but what’s more amazing is after continually getting messages “something has gone wrong” or “access denied” after multiple connect attempts, the app is now showing my music library not just one shared area but two. Both of which are pointing to the same file location and it seems it’s working. So “waiting for the files to load” as the app advises is probably the best option!
