As it stands I am still missing a large number of Sonos custom playlists on my Android device. I have an Apple device and can see all of the playlists within the app on this device. I can also see all of the playlists within the Windows desktop app.

The issue is related to the Android version of the app.

Has anyone else come across this or found a resolution? My only work-around which actually didn't work was to use the windows desktop app, and add the missing playlists as Favourites. This shows the name of the playlist on my Android device but does not play the songs within it.

Does anyone know if a fix for this is even on the road map?

Or do I have to just use an IOS device to play SONOS content comfortably?

This is really frustrating!!

Hi @Nathstar

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues seeing playlists in the Sonos app.

There’s nothing from our internal information regarding this type of issue; it’s strange that this is only happening on your Android device and not your devices. I use Android and I’m not missing any of my Sonos playlists or Music service playlists across devices.

Since you can see the playlists after adding them to favourites but not play them, I’d suggest making sure your Android meets our controller requirements and doesn’t have any app permissions disabled. If this looks okay, then try reset the Sonos app by going into the app and selecting Account → App Preferences → Reset App. You can also just re-install the app to get the same effect as resetting it.

If the above doesn’t help and you’re still missing your playlists, I would recommend contacting our support team for further investigation and troubleshooting, as they have the necessary tools available to look into your system and see why your playlists are missing.

This is a flaw with the android version of the latest SONOS app. I have a Windows machine, iPad, iPhone and an Android device all lined up during my testing. By the way I have the best experience using my windows machine first and foremost. The windows machine and IOS devices allow me to see all of my playlists. The Android device shows some of my playlists so there is clearly a limitation within the app.

I have spoken with SONOS technical support and they have confirmed TWICE that they are aware of this issue as well as others such as users not able to map their local music directory (I don't have this issue) but have no fix for the issues. There is nothing in the pipeline and the development just don't know. In fact the advice was to wait a couple of months and SEE what happens.

What this demonstrates is that clearly testing is predominately conducted on IOS devices and Android devices are an after thought.

The fact that these issues are still apparent is a disgrace.

How does the CS person you spoke to ‘know’ what is in the pipeline? I’ve never been able to get anything from a phone rep about what’s in the next release, much less a timeline of issues which are still being worked on. How are they aware of any QA testing of the fix? I wouldn’t think that there’s any crossover between the two groups.
