iPad Sonos app incorrectly says: “Your Apple Music account access has expired” and refuses to connect.

Running Apple Music directly on iPad and choosing ERA 100 speaker, there is a delay of several seconds, and then play button goes back to stop and it refuses to play on that device. Will play on other AirPlay devices.

Sonos ERA 100 does connect and play properly from MacBook Air Apple Music.

Bandcamp does connect and play from the iPad Sonos app..

( Latest iOS 18.0 on iPad and MacOS Sequoia 15.0 on MacBook and Apple Music subscription current and working despite what Sonos app says. )

I could not find an answer searching the forums, but after I submitted the above, it showed me a clue in the “Related Topics” sidebar:

Reauthorizing has half fixed the problem. Apple Music does now work from the Sonos app, however running Apple Music and selecting Sonos AirPlay still does not connect.

Hello @StevenDM, welcome to the Sonos Community!

I’m glad you’ve managed to resolve your Apple Music account issue with Sonos.

In regards to AirPlay not connecting, I would suggest a complete network and Sonos reboot.

Restart your router and Sonos by unplugging the power cable, wait a couple minutes and then plug it back in with the following order: Router → Sonos → Controller (smartphone / iPad)

If the above didn’t resolve the AirPlay connectivity issues, I recommend you to reach out to our Support for some live troubleshooting.

I hope this helps.
