Sonos…..you can’t seriously think it was a good idea to remove the ability to edit the music queue / add or change what’s playing next, etc.!!!! This is one of the things people use the most!!! Please fix it ASAP!!!!
SONOS doesn’t monitor the community. If you have a complaint, open a support ticket.
Having said that, yes the new app is terrible:
- No queue edit
- Can’t search local files
- Cannot manage local music library or indexing; if you remove it as a source you can’t restore it
- Queue not visible when playing local files
- Unintuitive location for managing groups
- Generally buggy & hard to use
I’m sure I’m missing some things.
My son played something called ‘telephone masturbator’ on our kitchen Sonos. I played a curated playlist of mother’s day music this morning and when it ended the speakers started blaring his songs out. I only found out he’d had friends over when all these profanities started blaring out.
Just an update here. One of SONOS’s employees (“Keith from SONOS”) is active on the Reddit r/SONOS thread; he has started a thread to collect feedback on the new app here. If you have specific criticisms of the new app, that’s the place to voice them.

Can’t manage or clear queue. When I add an album or song to play, they just get added to a very long queue of what was already there from last time. I can’t delete or rearrange music. The only way that I can play music is to find a station.

Yeah - this a move in wrong direction, as mentioned,it will be available soon.
Hopefully this happens quickly and sooner rather than later - ETREMLY ANNOYING! Certainly in light of the Cost of the Hardware and Services

Not sure what good it does to post a complaint at this stage. I find it impossible to believe that no one testing at Sonos prior to release didn't raise a red flag. Any way if anyone is interested at Sonos you need to replace all functionality that is missing. After last update add to queue doesn't work for local library and edit queue hasn't been fixed. They seem useless.
Queue editing is a critical function!!!! Curating a session queue from various sources, deleting tracks you may not want played for that session due to audience considerations, being able to add a single track into a session queue, etc., etc.
We've lost one of my favorite features of Sonos... please BRING BACK QUEUE EDITING, QUEUE CURATING, or whatever you call it internally at Sonos.
