Hi hope the community can help.

i have recently bought a Sonus arc,sub and 2 x Era 100 speakers. I have added to the Sonus app and am enjoying the system. I have a family member who also wants to use it but on their app when we try to add the speakers nothing is found. I made sure my they are on the same 2g network Sonus uses. They have an iphone and if i look for devices to stream music on from their phone i can see the speakers.

Sonos mentions rebooting the speakers but i am worried this would remove them from my app.

i have had a search on here and Sonos support and can’t really see anything.

Such a shame i can’t just share the system link i can with other smart devices i have.

thank you for your help - Jamie.

Your speakers are registered to your system. They can’t add your speakers to their app. They need to access your system on their app.

Ok thank you for the reply. How do they access my system on their app? Currently i can’t see anything on their app.

Get them to reset their app then when it opens select Join Existing System

To reset app, click on Account (the profile icon) > App preferences > Reset app

Thank you for the reply.I tried this and in the sonos app the system still can’t be seen. But they can stream direct from their phone to the sonos outside of the app.

Hi.  I assume your relative is using the S2 app?  The icon is a black disc with just the word “SONOS” in white.

Assuming it is, ask your relative to uninstall the Sonos app, then install again from the app store.  They won’t lose anything - the Sonos app is just a remote control for the system and all the system info is stored on the speakers.

When the app is installed and opened, are you offered the option to join an existing system?  If so, select that option.  From then on, talk us through what happens, options offered, error messages etc.  Screenshots would be even better.

Remember to give the app the necessary access to your network.

In the interest of promoting understanding, I’ll just mention that the speakers aren’t really “in the app”.  The speakers are in your system. and the app is just showing you what is in the system and providing the means for you to control it.

“Rebooting” means powering a speaker off and on again.  This will not delete any information.

For completenesss, “Resetting” or “factory resetting” speakers is much more drastic and is generally not to be recommended except when ownership changes.  However, resetting the app is fine, because the system is held on the speakers.
