Hi and thanks for posting.
My MacBook running Sonoma 14.6.1 never recovered from the May Sonos update, getting 913s and now 1002s. Did your new Mac respond to the Salami Slices measures?
Thanks in advance.
Joe
@SB Cali Joe,
Good morning!
My Mac is running SONOMA 14.6.1 and I was able to successfully recover my library for the third time after the latest update. I have tried everything on my neighbor’s but it will not update. They have laid off 100+ workers, some from customer support, so I am sure the wait times are off the charts.
I have now bought two DENON speakers and running HEOS. It is working using AirPlay2. I have as a backup in case SONOS goes defunct. I will tell you the interface is not as nice as SONOS (the before May 7th version) but it works and the sound is great!
I wished I had better news for you.
Thank you!! That’s great news since I'm ready to move on.
I only wish Sonos would make amends to the customer base by somehow allowing us to at least use their hardware as Bluetooth devices while their engineers figure how how they messed everything up with a premature release that put short-term profits over customer loyalty. I can’t even find the Sonos speakers on my MacBook Sound control panel!
Same issue for me on my MacBook Pro with Sonoma 14.6.1… no idea how to solve it.
What a nightmare again !
Just updated to Sequoia 15.0 and …. the “Salami Slice” trick to use networked device worked again.
Mixed feelings between being happy to get my library back and the anger to be so poorly treated by Sonos at every update.
What a shame.
