I’m consistently getting connection issues when opening up sonos. It’s become extremely unreliable.

Then in the time is does connect, it loses connection and I have to powered down all me speakers by removing the plugs. 
 

 

There’s two possibilities. The first is wifi interference , the second is a potential duplicate IP address issue. Try unplugging all of your Sonos, and while they are unplugged, reboot your router. Give the router a couple of minutes to come back up before you plug your Sonos back in.
