That depends on how they “destroyed” that ability. Several issues have been fixed.
I have tried updating the App to Sonos 2 and have spent over many days several hours trying to re-link my Music on my iMac to no avail. It worked perfectly before the last update.
Why are they unable to sort this issue out?
Is it simply geared aornd their wish to push the income streams from music providers on the internet and deny their own customers with their system the ability to play their own music?

Their motivation is more security related. Make sure your Mac has SMBv2. SMBv1 is no longer supported. Try above link once you have found out which SMB version is being used on the Mac.
