I tried to add Overcast to the Sonos app. Unfortunately I got the information that my username/pw unkown. After that I tried to login directly on oercast.fm, it works. Anybody an idea why I cannot add that service to Sonos?

Hi @Andreas996633, Thank you for reaching out and welcome to the community. Thanks for bringing this up and we understand where you're coming from. Regarding your concern about Overcast. Kindly check this link about supported Music Services on Sonos. or you can also check this link about listening on the podcast on Sonos.

Let us know how you get on with the advice above.

We're here to answer any further questions you have.

Hi, @Simon B , thank you for your answer. But that you not longer support Overcast as Music service is really bad.

Especially because the option is still available in the app. On the other hand, because podcast providers like TuneIn or Spotify don't help me; because I also have podcasts that I pay for and for which I have to provide a username and password.

Now how do I add a podcast with a username and password so I can listen to it?  (Please do not suggest Airplay now)

Have Sonos ever supported Overcast as a service? I don’t think they have.

Yes, of course. I used overcast in the Sonos app. I think there was any change after Sonos updated the apps to the current.

Are we both talking about the same app “Overcast” - as in the iOS podcast player made by Marco Arment?

If so, there has never been any official support for Overcast in Sonos that I’m aware of.

Pocket Casts, however, is supported in Sonos, and Pocket Casts will allow you to subscribe to password protected podcasts.

Yes, we are talking about the same app. I still have the option in the Sonos app on my iPhone (iOS13.7). And with the “old” Sonos app I could listen my podcasts from Overcast (synchronised).

I second this. Please support Overcast again.

Hello everyone, thanks for your suggestions and feedback. I coordinated with our specialist about Overcast on Sonos, and we were told that an unofficial integration of overcast through an external link was probably broken after some changes and updates on our end. You may refer to this link about the unofficial integration. Whoever created that unofficial integration through that link likely needs to update it. I was told as well that there were no indications that Overcast has ever been available on Sonos. They saw an article that indicates that Overcast wasn't available on Sonos in mid-2018. We coordinated with our team about this request and they’ll try to look into it about this request.

Keep us posted on how it goes and we're here to answer any further questions you have.

I just installed my new Sonia speaker and am enjoying it. However, I am puzzled by the fairly advanced Sonos system not having a rather popular podcast app, Overcast, not in the Sonos list of options to add. Please make the necessary changes, links, etc. to provide the Overcast service as an add-on. Thank you!
