Can't change Spotify account

I need to change the login details of my Spotify account as a connected service on the Sonos.  The current account is not a premium one (downgraded from premium to free and no longer works).   I (probably mistakenly) removed the service and re-added it, thinking it would prompt me to sign in with a new account, but it doesn’t prompt me with any login details and just says “Error.  Unable to add Spotify Account” when I tap on “Connect to Spotify”.

I tried deleting the cache and user data in the Sonos app and restarted my device but it gives the same error.
