Can I use an Xbox as a network share

I want to setup a music library for all my media files. I was wondering if I could transfer the music to my Xbox Series X and use that as a network available drive, rather than buying a NAS drive.

No, I don’t think Sonos can read that location, as it really isn’t a network ‘share’. But there’s certainly nothing stopping you from trying a test.

@Bahamut3210

Using your Xbox Series X as a network share for media files isn't directly supported. While you can store music on it, it won't function as a traditional network drive for access by other devices like a NAS.

If you're looking to access music across your network, you might want to consider setting up a dedicated NAS or using a media server software on a computer instead. Have you looked into options like Plex or using a home server setup? These could provide a more streamlined solution for your music library.

You can if you flip your Xbox into dev mode, but that is an expensive way of running a file server.
