Any ideas why I cannnot operate sobos system on iphone 16 pro max with ios 18? The app does not find arc, era300, sub. After reinstalling the app and rebooting the sonos system to the default nothing changes. Creating new system helps nothing because the app does not see any the equipment even after unplugging (although in the app it is written it should). Any solution because now I cannot control any of the products ?
Tell us about your network, please. What type of router do you have, how is your Sonos connected to it?
It is huawei router. The connection is via wifi. Tries to reset the router and nothing helped. After rebooting the system I can see the equipment in the app in the same wifi network but when I connect them I get the answer : After unplugging it should be seen in your system - but it is still not visible.
Hmmm. Nothing jumps out at me. Have you called Sonos Support directly to discuss it?
When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.
So I will try to call them. Thanks
The same thing happened to me yesterday. I had to unplug all of my Sonos devices and reboot my router twice, and then it worked.
The second time, I waited about 15 minutes after my router was back up before I plugged in all of my Sonos devices, and then I waited another 10 minutes or so before I looked for my system on the app. And not sure if it mattered or not, but the second time, I used the Sonos app on my MacBook Pro first. I saw my system on my MacBook, and then I saw it on my iPhone 16 Pro.
It was frustrating and time consuming, especially when you have a lot of Sonos products throughout your house. Sonos really needs to figure out a way to reboot a system via the app.
Thanks for the answer. Try to wait a bit longer later.
Problem solved.
After rebooting my router for the third time (quite long, thanks wjgeib) and all of my sonos devices I managed to set everyting in the app. Hope next time it won’t be so time consuming.
iOS 17.7 works fine on new iPad m4. Doesn't work at all on iOS 18. Cant find speakers no chimes from speakers when adding them then can’t find system. Wrote to the CEO to suggest they get the info on to their website as it must be a known problem by now. If you want it to work try it off an iPad using 17.7 instead for the moment until they sort it out.
Works on my old devices, but not on iPhones 16. using unbiquity dreammachine as router. Reboot didn’t solve the issue.
I’m having the same problem with iOS 18 and iPhone 16pro. I rebooted router and all Sonos devices 3x and still the app can’t find them. I did a Factory Reset on one of my Sonos One and the app did recognize it but when it went to connect is to my Wifi it hangs and then tells me that it was added but may not appear in my System, so unplug and replug. Did all of this and the Sonos One isn’t found again. Very frustrating.
iOS 17.7 works fine on new iPad m4. Doesn't work at all on iOS 18.
There are issues with iOS 18 and M4. Currently, M4 users cannot update to iOS 18. Some M4’s were bricked (and needed to be replaced) by the update before the update was blocked.
I’m seeing the same issue. Has anyone been able to resolve it besides rebooting the router 100 times?
I have new iPhone 18 iOS 18.0 app can not find existing system. One hour talk with support… all kind of procedures (reinstall app, reboot router, reboot extender, diagnostics, …) no solution. On iPads and other iPhone 14 Plus iOS 18.0 no problem. Frustrating.
It’s pretty unbelievable that Sonos hasn’t resolved such a major issue. Everyone one this chain should spam the support email with complaints.
Sometimes rebooting the iPhone helps….
Send a complaint to ceo@sonos.com about this issue
I have three separate users, all on different networks, that cannot access Sonos with the iPhone 16. Rebooting phone, router, delete and reinstall the app doesn’t help. All older iPhones connect and control the speakers just fine.
When the app doesn’t find the speakers on the network, clicking update network in the app doesn’t find the speakers.
I don’t have an answer, but my iPhone 16 connects to my system without an issue. Have you placed a call to Sonos Support directly to discuss it?
I’ve been having the same issues with my iPhone 16pro. I was able to factory reset my playbar and it’s in the app but truplay keeps saying it’s not compatible with this device. My guess is the iPhone 16 and iOS 18 are too new and Sonos has a habit of taking a while to catch up. My playbar keeps saying it’s in stereo pcm and sounds like crap so hoping this works soon as I don’t have any older devices to use for truplay.
Same. New iPhone using iOS 18, can’t find the existing network. An existing iPhone running iOS 17, playing off the system as normal. That phone was never touched and the Sonos app continues to work. Installed Sonos on an older iPad running something pre iPadOS 16, works fine off an old Sonos version finds the system instantly.
I figure just wait a few months for Sonos to fix it in an updated version for ios18.
Exactly the same. All working on old iPad and was working on iPhone 13 - no Sonos network found on new iPhone 16. Can’t face going through all the device setup again so will probably wait and hope, and will just have to use iPad I guess.
Same frustrating issue here. Upgraded to the new iPhone 16 Max Pro and now my Sonos app can’t find my devices. Everything is on e the same network. I’ve rebooted and deleted the app and redownloaded. Nothing is working. I’ll try to reboot again and wait longer...
Buy SonoPhone from the App store...IT WORKS….rather than other Sonos software disaster….
Same for me. Now I must use my Ipad or my Mac. Arghhh
Same 4 me.. pile of
