Is the App on a phased rollout?
If yes why is there no schedule here?

Finally got the Android update today (USA), and Favorites actually show up for the first time since May! No album art for local libraries, obviously.
Hi All
We heard back from the person who is responsible for app releases to the platform stores.
Currently, the Android app roll-out is at 50%, and we are expecting to reach 100% tomorrow - not only has it been a rolling update, it has been accelerating too, but from a low initial level.
So, initially, there was only a fraction of Android users getting the update, but by tomorrow afternoon, this should reach all of you.
I hope this helps.
Why can’t this detail be shared before the launch with more details of when users in different locations are likely to receive it?
I have said multiple times
I Just get the update
Hi
I have forwarded that feedback, and this - it’s all I can do.
Having had App V80.10.06 of 20241007 installed for some time, I finally managed to get Firmware 81.1 - 58074 installed on my S2 units and it has indeed sorted out the compilations issue in my local library.
A big thank you to the developer team at Sonos!
While you're on a roll, how about working out how to populate all those empty placeholders for album art? That would make us library using Android people very happy.
Just for info for anybody interested, I am now running an S1 and an S2 system simultaneously on the same handhelds (all Android) from a single router (Mikrotik) with both 2.4 and 5 ghz WiFi which the controllers hop between with no issues. 6 of my 7 speakers are on Ethernet and all have static IP addresses.
I'm starting to relax a bit......

No, because these are the app updates, I mean the firmware update of the speakers themselves. They do not run synchronously with the app updates so there must be more in it. What you indicate here is that for this functionality you need at least the latest firmware
80.10.06 has just appeared on my play store and i have updated successfully. To be honest i can’t see any differences. I’ve got the latest firmware and was hoping that the
would bring back the alpha indexing on my local library when searching, as it always used to before the new app. It’s also about time we Android users had our album cover art back as well as it has always been a fundamental part of my sonos experience over my many years sonos use.
I will admit that my experience with new app has been pretty painless compared to some users, no problems with finding system, speakers or local library and definitely no problems with volume control.
just want ability to search my local library by Alphabetic Indexing and Album art (as on old version).
I was also hoping that we long suffering sonos diehards may have been offered some sort of discount incentive towards potential purchase of new Arc Ultra as recompense for all our suffering since may?
Maybe in the form of a special discount code?

All software notes are compiled into those posts. The part I highlighted was the only change made to the firmware with the last update (or, only documented change, anyway) - the “Music Library indexing and reliability improvements” were included in the speaker firmware update, not the app update. The release notes are combined.
I hope this helps.
It’s not very clear is it. For iOS you just get the rather generic bug & stability fixes, yet the speaker firmware fixes the indexing regardless of controller platform. The release notes make it look like it’s Android only.
If that’s ‘more verbose’ then I guess we have no hope for ever getting useful release notes. It’s pretty poor frankly, as is the state of queue and playlist editing after 5+ months.
It’s a shame Sonos can’t be bothered to put the same effort into new releases that they seem to put into their corporate pronouncements…

Thank you. It wasn't there for me (in Canada) about an hour before I read this message, but I checked again after seeing this and the update had finally arrived. I can't recall any other app update where a "gradual" rollout has taken a full week. I hope this isn't the Sonos standard going forward. But I certainly appreciate your help in sorting this out.
Why has the release notes page been changed retrospectively? That previous iOS release had three entries including two quick updates after the initial about 19th Sept. one…. that’s now all vanished.
What’s the point of a release notes page that changes after the fact to something completely different?
Just so I’m not going mad…
Today we release another update for the new Sonos app.
This update will be rolled out for iOS and Android separately.
Here is a quick look at what is going to be available for both iOS and Android updates:
