Hi Sonos team,

I am using a Sonos Beam (gen2) and am not happy with the result of Trueplay. I would much prefer to do the tuning myself, based on acoustic measurements with a measuring microphone and REW software. This would require the PEQs becoming available to be manually adjusted by the user through the Sonos app. Is this functionality planned, e.g. by enabling an “expert setup mode”? When can we expect this functionality being deployed?

Sonos rarely gives advanced notice of future products and feature enhancements.  I doubt this will be an exception. This particularly request has been made many times before with no indication that Sonos is ever going to implement it.

My personal opinion is that Sonos isn’t going to make this a priority anytime soon as their primary market is for those that are not interested in doing their own manually tuning to the level you wish to do.

That would indeed be unfortunate.

Companies like WiiM offer 10 PEQs even in their lowest streaming product (WiiM mini), so I think Sonos should offer this functionality as well, given their premium standard.

Historically, Sonos preferred room equalization through software (Trueplay) rather than allowing tweaks by the user.  Not saying it is correct, it just is their design philosophy.  If you are looking for user tweaks, I’m not sure Sonos is for you.  Better to move to a product which allows this feature than to wait for Sonos it change its philosophy.
