Where are they on the S1 app? Also how to add an equalizer?

You can find the tone controls here: Settings » System » [room name] » EQ
Add an equaliser? In what way? A software equaliser? This is not possible as the Sonos app does not play music, the speakers do all the work - the EQ section of our app just tells the speaker what settings it should apply to the music. No EQ app on your phone/tablet can have any affect on Sonos playback unless you are using Bluetooth on one of the portable models, Roam or Move.
