Is the windows controller able to handle both newer Sonos products like Ray , and integrate older legacy products like Play 5 together…. Seeing the controller is not S1 or S2 designated … I haven’t tried yet but will at some point when I bring a set of play 5s back from the cabin…

No, there is no Sonos controller that handles both S1 and S2, each system requires its own controller, although they can coexist on your mobile device or desktop/laptop.

There is no Sonos system that allows you to combine S1 and S2 speakers in the same ‘group’.

The Windows controller just labelled “Sonos” is the S2 controller.  There is a separate controller for S1.

The Windows controllers are mostly just for controlling the system.  They can perform hardly any system management functions.  A mobile controller is essential.
