I have Play1's, Play5, Playbar and Sub - all bought in 2013 playing very very nice.

However,Can it be a problem at some stage you do a softeware update and this do NOT support old players ??

I'm affraid that some day my equipment from 2013 will NOT function anymore due to software issues - is this correct??

I do not believe I can reject software updates - or can I ??
All Sonos speakers still work with the latest Software and Firmware. Some of the new features don't work on the older kit (Airplay 2) but as speakers they still play all the music services and local music.

The only Sonos item that has been "retired" and no longer works with the latest software is the CR100. Given the noise created when that was retired I think Sonos would think very carefully before making a change that would stop a speaker or connect unit to no longer work.

And they were to announce players no longer working, which I doubt, you can lock down your system an not accept any updates, although that has it's own issues and is hard to control.
