Why is it not possible to search for a song? When I look i can see the album cover: a scrub bar: a volume bar and other items- but no search- the old app let you search for a new song whilst listening to a tune... I have to back out of the screen 2 times to search... terrible... and the lag! Terrible

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues with the app. When the app was redesigned, the buttons at the bottom to navigate your system were changed to the new style of navigation, meaning you start on the home screen and branch from there instead of swapping to the different tabs at the bottom of the screen. 

Whenever you’re in a menu or not on the home screen, you can tap the Sonos logo at the top of the screen to bring you back to the home page. I’ve tried this on my system and it works from the Now Playing screen. This will save you a button press and should be the same amount of steps that the old app had, i.e. tap the Sonos Logo to show the search bar VS tap the search icon to show the search bar.

I’d be happy to forward this to the relevant team as a feature request however. I’m all for more customization, so having the ability to search from the now playing screen sounds like a good addition.

 

For the app being unresponsive, I’d suggest the following steps:

  1. Check for updates from your app store.
  2. Reboot the device the Sonos app is installed on.
  3. Make sure no App Permissions are disabled.
  4. Reset the Sonos app.

If you’re still having issues with the app being unresponsive, I’d suggest contacting our support team for further troubleshooting support.
