We used to be able to search our NAS libraries by genre (as well as other tags)

Is this still available?

If yes, how?

If not, will that capability ever be restored?

You can.  Open “Music Library” from the Home Screen.

 

You still can.  Use the search in the new app.  Sources will be listed across the top.  Scroll left on the sources till you see ‘Music Library’, the source results will display under the relevant tags.
