What is the loud switch in eq on the app for. 

I have a Sonos Beam

New to Sonos sorry if this is a daft question 

Loudness is a setting that boosts low and high frequencies at lower volume, because when set to flat response, the ear hears lower and higher frequencies as lacking when played at low volume.
