My kids seemed to have created another room with exactly the same name, and now I can't remove it.
Can you rename it and then try to delete it afterwards?
Tried that. Also uninstalled & reinstalled the whole Sonos system. Both rooms still appeared! Am I being stupid? Is there no delete room button that is so obvious but I've missed it?
Don't think so. Try a factory reset on one of the affected players, then re-add it with another room name. Call Sonos Support if you're uncertain about resetting the device.
Assuming the duplicate rooms have a Sonos unit attached to it, a factory reset will delete the room by holding down the play/pause button while you power the unit up. Then you just add it back as a new player.
