In folder view in Music Library the whole path to the NAS used to be shown so I could instantly find the Music Pop, Music Classical, Audio books etc etc. folder.

Now the path is truncated so all I see is //NASE12345/Multimed then cut off.

Thus all 10 folders appear identical. Only by going to each in turn can you find out which one it is.

Either revert to showing the full path or allow the user to place a relevant icon in the COMPLETELY USELESS grey square that takes up space in front of each path.

No icon sounds like you are on Android where that is a known issue, one to be fixed sometime.

Both my Android and the web controller are showing full path information here. Admittedly my server and path names are fairly short above the Artist Name level but they, the album and songs aren’t shortened and all appear correctly.

I’d verify that all Sonos are on the latest version as is the App, then reindex the library to see if anything changes.

If it is still wrong a screenshot would be a big help in understanding just what is going wrong.

Yes it is showing full path on the controller but  I use the Android app to run calls for music etc.

A typical path length would be  //NASE12345/Multimedia/Audio/Audiobook

System and controller report updated

Here is what I get when I try to play from my Music Library / Folders:

I’ve blanked out part of the NAS name as it’s a public board.

However if I go to System /Manage / Music Library I do get the full path displayed as it used to be. (I just can’t play the folder from there!) Perhaps just move the code from that page across!

As I have no interest in streaming and only use it to access my NAS folders it’s a significant nuisance and one that seems so unnecessary given it was fine before.

PS I have rescanned the folders in Controller. By re-indexing did you mean remove them all and re-add?

My “Music Library” path is the root folder which does have a truncated name.  When I open it in “Folder” search I get the subfolders which are genre names like…. Ambient, Blues, Classical etc.

Is your issue that the subfolder path names include the root folder path name?  That would definitely make those names too long and Sonos has the subfolders set to take up only one line.  That is why they would by truncated.

The subfolder names, in my case, do not include  the root folder path name.  This is on IOS.

Why do you have all the sub-folders under multimedia shared individually?

I have one share: //pi-server/music

and under that my main folder: Current

under that I have: A, B, C up to Z

Under A I have: Abba, Acker Bilk, Air Supply and other A artists.

Under Acker Bilk I have: In a Mello Mood and The Best of.

Under Best of I have the individual songs on that album listed.

If nothing else you could scrap the long names and use something like: /MM/A/Book
