Hi there

I know that it is possible to disable the volume control via the touch controls on the devices themselves, but I am actually looking for the opposite solution. Here is the thing:  I have Sonos players all around my house, including in the restrooms. Come party time, I group all players to play the same music. During the night, the group volume will be changed up and down depending on the mood. However, I would like the volume of the players in the restrooms (and a few other zones) to stay constant. They should basically play all night with the same (low) volume, and it should only be possible to change the volume via the physical buttons (typically once and for all before the guests arrive). All the other zones should be able to be controlled by the app as usual.

Is this possible?  I think it would be a very useful feature.

Thanx in advance for any suggestions/help :-)

Best regards,

Jørgen

You can disable each of the speaker buttons/touch controls in their room settings in the Sonos App “Settings/System/mRoom Name]” - there is also a ‘volume limiter’ option too for each Sonos room in the same area of the App.

Hi Ken

I am actually looking for the “opposite” situation: I want to have the volume buttons enabled but have the app volume control disbaled for some zones… That is, fix the volume of some zones regardless of what happens to the group volume via the app. Possible?

Er, no unfortunately not, but as mentioned you can use the room’s ‘volume limiter’ to prevent them going above a predetermined level, but sadly there is nothing to fix the volume of a room within a group… I assume you are aware you can press and hold the group volume control in the Sonos App to reveal all the rooms in the group and can then adjust the volume of each room individually? - as shown in my screenshot attached.
