My CR200 + Bridge + Five Speakers have been working for the most part reliably for 10+ years…. And only recently I lost connection to a Play 1 and was having trouble reconnecting it back to the SonosNet.

Multiple calls to the Help Desk yielded advice and directions that had me end up with my System being placed into Wi-Fi Mode…. which then disabled the CR200…

I asked and tried to return everything back to the way it was… but after many calls and hours was told “nothing more could be done”…..

Yes… I know “everything” is obsolete and no longer supported… but that never stopped me before. And I do use my Android with S1… but the CR200 is just a great single purpose/easy to access convenience and I would like to resurrect it.

I’ve gone through the most of the FAQ’s / Threads on steps to restore what I had. Nothing worked. But then I tried some steps of my own and amazingly everything began to work and my CR200 populated with all my speakers also worked. Yea!

That was short lived…. and I lost SonosNet…. and all access to the Speakers and the CR200 is BLANK of devices….. Except the Bridge!

I’m trying to pinpoint where the failure is and I believe its the Bridge, and a thread talked about a “Power Supply Issue as the Bridge is prone to Supply failures… but did not specify if its the outboard Power Supply being Faulty or the internal of the Bridge. A “No Load” reading of the 5V / 2amp supply shows its okay, and I will try a replacement Power Supply I do have to see if its an intermittent supply.

Any thoughts on this issue would be appreciated…….

Until proven otherwise, suspect the BRIDGE power supply. If you have a voltmeter, BRIDGE’s power supply should put out slightly over 5.0V. Less than this results in wild, difficult to characterize issues. If you can wire another SONOS unit, power down BRIDGE.

Thank you buzz....  I just went through my stock and found a 5v power supply and just wired a new coaxial Jack to it and it too supplies 5 V but unless it's under load one can't be sure if indeed it's it as the issue or there is an intermittent problem when the bridge  Heat shop as those get quite hot and after 10 years I have no doubt that something may have Is gone intermittent  Within it also.…

I'm hoping just to set up a single play 1 first to switch over to Sonos 1st as it's never fun having to do every other unit.…

There is of course eBay for replacement bridge but there is no guarantee that 1 doesn't come with problems...

If you give SONOS the WIFi details or wire another unit, BRIDGE is not necessary.

I had composed a better reply, but it was trashed.

Hi @MarcRobert

Thanks for your post!

Sorry to hear about this issue your are having with your Sonos system.

First of all, even if the power supply for your Bridge is fine, we recommend that you simply no longer use it - they are well past their best days. As mentioned, it is better to use another product wired to ethernet instead.

To use your CR200, you have to use SonosNet.

The diagnostics that were submitted on the 24th (to be clear, I don’t know how much has been changed since then) indicate that the speakers disagree about which channel SonosNet should be on - most say channel 1, but “Bath” says channel 6. With a device other than Bridge connected to ethernet, I recommend you change SonosNet channel to 6 to “pick up” Bath again, then switch back to channel 1. I suspect this is one of if not the reason rooms were missing.

If none of your speakers “live” in a place suitable for ethernet connection, I recommend finding a Boost to replace your Bridge, though a long ethernet cable will likely be cheaper - that’s a viable option too. You may be able to find a Boost at one of our official eBay stores:

I hope this helps.
