Either the (account) owner of the equipment needs to run the update (only they have the authority to update), or otherwise the devices need to be factory reset and added to your own account as a new household. In most cases the holiday home owner will usually update it, but in many such homes I’ve travelled to the owners just say to set them up on my own account - create a new household if you are advised to go that route.

I assume you know how to create a new household and add your own music services. I would use the same Sonos account, particularly if you use/want to use a voice assistant service with the Sonos devices.

As you leave the vacation home I suggest that you Factory Rest the SONOS components. Otherwise, any of your music services that you setup on the system will remain with the equipment. Of course this will create pain for the next occupant who will need to set the system up from scratch.
i suggest that the owner set up an account for the house and leave instructions about how tenants can install controllers. Or, install a dedicated controller to be kept in the house.
Most of these modern media products are a pain in rentals because tenants will want to use their own Apple, Spotify, Roku, Netflix, etc. accounts. This will wipe out any accounts that the owner installed or the tenants might leave their accounts installed on the system. Departed tenants could change their account passwords after the fact. Of course this might leave the next tenant with nothing.
