I have a Marantz PM7000N amplifier with a Marantz CD6007 (CD player) and Pro-Ject Debut turntable connected to the amp using RCA cables to the respective audio in’s. I have a Sonos Port connected to the amp using the recorder out RCA and then to the Port line in RCA. The Port is streaming music to a stereo ERA 300 setup wirelessly. All works well playing music from turntable, CD player and Internet radio using the amps source for each device. The issue is, I cannot control the volume to the speakers using the amps remote control. The volume indicator goes up and down on the amp when using the Marantz remote but it does not alter the volume to the speakers. The only way I can control the volume to the speakers is from within the Sonos S2 app. Within the Sonos app I have the line out level set to ‘FIXED’. I have tried ‘VARIABLE’ and ‘PASS THROUGH’ on the line out level as well,l but i still cannot control the speaker volume using the amp. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you.

Most integrated amplifiers I have used, do not have the output for recording set as a variable port. This is because once you set a recording level, (think of cassette recording) it would not be affected by the main volume control in case you had to adjust the volume for some reason.
This means adjusting the amps volume from the remote will have no affect on the volume level going to the Port and the Era 300s
If you have a look at the Details page on the Crutchfield site it says that output is fixed.
