Hi!~

Okay, I have a new turntable ( purchased through SONOS ) that I am trying to connect with my system ( which is pretty straightforward...)

For the holidays I received a new AMP and a PORT to get me going. Do I need both? I really just need my turntable to speak to my speakers…. HELP!, Jim

If you currently have Sonos speakers, you only need the Port.  If you have passive 3rd party speakers, you only need the Amp, which will power the passive speakers.  Both units have the Line-In required for the turntable.

Just use the Port. The Amp isn’t necessary unless you plan on powering a set of passive speakers.

Thanks! That’s awesome. ...so just to clarify, “passive” speakers are non-SONOS speakers….

Yes, non-Sonos, unpowered speakers.
