I have a Tidal subscription and a number of Tidal songs on my Sonos playlists. As of a couple of days ago, I cannot play any Tidal songs from playlists - I get the error ‘song not encoded correctly’.

The same issue has been raised by some people on the forum, as early as four years ago. Some seem to have been due to router issues, but some were due to issues on Tidal’s end. 

My problem seems to have coincided with Tidal recently allowing Hi-fi quality on a regular subscription. 

Has anybody else experienced the same problem? 

My diagnostic is 1444797406.

Have you tried removing TIDAL from the Sonos app and re-adding it? Also try unplugging your speakers from power for a couple of minutes and reboot your router and phone.


I tried both. No avail. I still get the same error.
