Initally set up in one home and took many hours of work arounds to finally get it to play.

A few years later resurrected in a different state and simply does not work.

I would not recommend Sonos to anyone.

Will not recognise my Port and basically feel like I need to be an IT technician just to get it to play a record.

I heard Sonos are going broke and that they are trying to discount all their products as a last gasp measure to get some market share back, but basically, the software is too hard for the average person to operate.

Sonos does work.  Have you tried following the standard instructions.

If you haven’t used your gear for several years, the firmware may be too out-of-date to be able to connect without intervention from Sonos Support.  You might first try temporarily wiring one device before you do a “check for updates”.
