I have an aging Sonos Controller with 2 Sonos One speakers downgraded and all working under the S1 App. My problem is with the Line In connected to a DVD/CD player which now shows Disconnected.

Everything was working fine until I decided to change the DVD/CD player which was connected by RCA cables. The new DVD/CD player did not work and showed in the S1 App disconnected. I gave up and put the original player back on and got the same thing. I have used several cables known to be working. I have even tried the optical digital cable, still nothing and the App showing Disconnected, I have also reinstalled the S1 app

can anyone help please

What are you connecting the CD player to?

The CD player is connected to the Sonos Controller with the red and white RCA cables, like I said it worked fine before


Sorry the Sonos Connect is the device


Check with the Desktop app. I know the S2 mobile app is unreliable at finding line-in devices, though the mobile S1 app is a lot better its often worth verifying issues with the gold standard desktop app.

I am only using the S1 app the Connect can only use this.

Both on my PC and mobile device the Line In is disconnected and greyed out, I can not do anything.

Any Idea


The optical connection on a Sonos Connect is an out not an in so that would not have gotten you anywhere anyway. Which brings me to the question if you are using the RCA ins to connect the DVD-player, or that you are possibly using the outs there too.
