One of my Sonos Connects is suddenly not working. I tried a reset. It is connected through a cable. If I turn on the volume you hear a bit of “clipping” sound and ver far away a bit of sound. I eliminated the loudspeakers (active) since they perfectly work on another Connect.

It seems like the `connect somehow died. Any ideas?

thanks!

I’ve got some experience of a few misbehaving Connects (gen2).

It seems to be sensitive instabilities or changes in the power supply side of things.
I once bought a spare power supply board, but accidentally got one for Connect gen1. Same voltages but didn’t work.

Another thing we all know is they tend get quite warm/hot, which is bad news for internal components. Electrolytic capacitors in particular.

On one of them where I had a problem with no audio output. After seeing Connect - LINE-OUT low volume since update S1 app | Sonos Community I went ahead replacing all SMD electrolytic caps on the audio board. It was really tricky, but it’s working now again.

Hope you’ll find a resolution to your problem
