I have a pair of connects. One died one day. Won't get out of the orange/white blink after a reset so figured it was time to replace them anyways.

I purchased one WiiM to replace the broken Connect. After I got it set up I went to open the Sonos app just to make sure that was connected and I had a forced app update. After it updated and asked me to create a network again for my connect. Unfortunately it has not been able to find the connect that has been working for several years. When I tried doing another reset I tried turning the phone off and on. I've tried everything except try and connect it directly to the router just to set it up again.

Is that my only option at this point or do you just replace that box since it's not supported anyways

This is a community forum. If you are asking about a replacement, which isn’t that clear, you need to call Sonos Support directly to discuss it.

Wire it directly to your router and see if your app will pick it up. The Sonos app is still really buggy and setting up products hasn’t worked reliably until recently so be prepared to try more than once ime.

Did not work. I reset both of my boxes, they're blinking green, ready to connect but the app does not pick him up. The app update must have bricked them since they're not supported anymore.

If they are s2 connects they are still supported by the app(these are s2, not s1 right). I would try adding them with the desktop app, keep them wired to your network. Flashing green light is a good sign, means they have reset and are ready to be set up.

iPhone user? Make sure you messing with the phone didn’t make the app lose the “local network” privilege.

Also make sure you are using the correct app, “Sonos S1” or “Sonos” depending what you are running on your gear.
