I wanted to know three things?

1-how many Sonos ceiling speakers can I install?

2-do they need to be hardwired to the amp or can they connect with Bluetooth or WiFi?

3- can the amp handle multiple zones?  For example speakers in dinning room only or dinning room and bedroom only?

  1. There are no ‘Sonos ceiling speakers’. Sonos does partner with another company called Sonance, who does make ceiling speakers, and even sells some of them on the Sonos website.

  2. You can install as many as you want. Some Sonance speakers allow up to three pairs connected to a single Sonos Amp, but many only allow two pairs. They all require hardwiring to the Sonos Amp. The Amp itself can connect to your Wi-Fi. It is not a Bluetooth receiving device.

  3. Each Amp is a ‘zone’. There is a single set of speaker posts per Amp, so you would not be able to split up ‘zones’ from a single Sonos Amp.

Sonos calls these “zones” “rooms”.

If you feed your Amp’s output into an impedance matching speaker selector you can gain a lot of flexibility. Just make sure you aren’t asking for more power (volume) than your Amp can provide.
