I just bougth a Sonos amp. And for me it works great, while i have an Iphone. However my girlfriend has an android phone. And she’s using Youtube video, not youtube music as she listens to music you can only find on the “normal” youtube.
How can she listen on the sonos amp? We have found a sonostube app. but then you can’t login to youtube. she has premium, to avoid the adds.
What equivalent has sonos made for the airplay for android phone? Cause shurely they have thought of this? this is the 3rd gen amp. and this issues has been all over the internet for many years. And since they are not adding bluetooth to the amp,(which costs nothing to add), they must have thought of a better solution?
Or am i forced to return the amp, and get one of the competitors? I would hate that, because i really like the sonos amp. but missing a feature for all non IOS devices would be such a massive deficiency that it’s not useable at all. if half of my guests etc. can’t use it..
Samsung airplay equivalent Sonos Amp

Well it’s also a matter of definition. Airplay is doing it. And sonostube does it.
All it would require is for the app, to make the phono reconize a new sound source like (cable, wireless headphones etc.) which is pretty simple. once the phone is directing it’s sound signal to that new source. that source can then be transferede via the wifi transmistion.
so it ONLY at matter of “do we want to” at sonos’ end
Airplay is doing it because Sonos pays for Apple Airplay licensing. A similar arrangement would be required with Google, who isn’t in the best relationship with Sonos right now. As far as Sonostube goes, that’s an independent app developer coding away in their basement. Airplay had the same, and Apple would occasionally shut them down, but small fish seldom get much attention. Sonos has far deeper pockets than that, and Google’s lawyers would be on them faster than you can say “I hacked Chromecast”.
