Simple setup
PC hard wired to router
router hard-wired to ZoneBridge 100
ZoneBridge 100 transmits to ZonePlayer90
ZonePlayer90 - DAC - integrated amp - spkrs

When it's working properly PC Network shows
PC - XPS8700
Sonos Connect
LinkSys WRT54GL router
Sonos Bridge

When it cuts out, Sonos Connect is missing, apparently because it's not connected, but does it refer to a specific device?

I do not have a smart phone, but I occasionally use the Sonos Controller 200.

This setup has been working for many years, but the disconnects are becoming tiresome. Incidentally, the disconnects began after I updated the sonos Controller S1 to Version 11.14  Build 572150280

Retire the ZoneBridge (commonly known as a BRIDGE) completely. They’re known to have potential issues with their power supplies, which cause very hard to trace issues. If you can’t wire another Sonos device directly to the router, simply enter in your network spears to the Sonosnsystem, and let it live on your WiFi network.

You could spend time searching for a replacement power supply, I suspect you could get an equivalent type of power supply on Amazon, but in my opinion, the BRIDGE is so far past its EOL that it’s not worth it. It’s also restricted to SonosNet v1, substantially slower than the current SonosNet v2 (not really advertised or known at this point, given the age of both the BRIDGE and its replacement, the BOOST, but you might find old web pages talking about how the BOOST is ‘faster’).

Thanks for the quick reply, Airgetlam.

I've read that the Bridge was not required and my router can transmit directly to the ZonePlayer, but I don't have a clue how to add the ZonePlayer to my network . I'm using Win 7 - can you direct me to a place that can explain how to do this?

Thanks,

EdP

You just need to connect the Zoneplayer to the router with an ethernet cable and remove the Bridge.

“You just need to connect the Zoneplayer to the router with an ethernet cable and remove the Bridge.”

That means running a 30-foot cable through the house.

If you can’t easily wire a Sonos to Ethernet you could just switch to using your WiFi instead, for most folks that is a better option in any case.

I think I have no solution to remaining wireless without some sort of bridge. I'm guessing my main problems are that I'm still on Win 7, my Sonos PC controller is S1, and I have no smart phone. So I guess I'll just live with it.
