Playback pauses in IOS when Sonos playing first

it looks like there is a priority or a hand off issue between Sonos and IOS and when I try playing spotify in IOS when Sonos has been playing first from within the sonos app spotify does not get handed off to ios.

I have brought this up to the spotify community and they mention bringing up the issue with you all as well.

Thanks for raising this with both communities. We are aware of the issue and our developers are currently looking into this. 

One workaround we’ve discovered is by using Spotify Connect (casting from the Spotify app) to start the stream on Sonos. This will prevent the issue from occurring when playback is started outside of Sonos.
