We would like to make it as easy as possible for guests to use the Sonos amp and speakers in their rooms to stream audio from their phones.  The best solution we’ve seen for this in other rental properties is VSSL, where the user simply connects to a bluetooth receiver with the corresponding room name and voila - their iphone audio is streaming through the in-wall / in ceiling speakers.

Has anyone attempted to provide an alternate audio source for the TV audio in from their sonos amps, so that alternate sources can be used as the “TV Autoplay” feature in a local room, especially when no TV exists in that room?

For a Sonos Amp, you would connect the Bluetooth receiver to the Line-in, not the TV connection.  The TV connection is HDMI-ARC, and I know of no Bluetooth receiver that supports HDMI-ARC.

Do you know if the Sonos amp line-in can be set to “autoplay” whenever there is a live signal on that input? We’re trying to avoid asking guests to setup the Sonos app and thus give them control over entire building’s audio, rather than just single local room audio via bluetooth.

Yes, there is an Autoplay setting on the Line-In just like the TV input.  You can even select the room it will autoplay to, if you don’t wish it to be the Amp the Line-In is attached to.

Perfect - thanks so much!
