Hoping to get some advice on ceiling speaker placement in my kitchen/dining for two pairs of Sonance MAG6R’s. The kitchen/dining is 12’ wide x 23’ long. I marked with red dots 3 different configurations I have come up with. Not sure if they can be mounted in a line or not? Any help would be appreciated.

For the kitchen, the top drawing.

For the dining area the middle one - but with the speakers shifted left to be more centered on the table and bar seating.

Thanks for the input. The left side faces a lake and there is a large 60x60 picture window on the wall behind the dining room table, is there a distance I should stay away from that or will it have no effect?

You might see some reflections of sound off the side wall but in your situation they would be a very minor issue. I’m not even sure you could hear them.

I’d plan on being at least a foot away from the wall just to make sure to avoid any framing or insulation issues. You don’t want to go too far or you’ll impact the (limited) stereo imaging the wall-side bar and table seats will get.

Do you think two sets of speakers is overkill and I should go down to one pair?

The kitchen/dining is 23’ long x 12’ wide.

thanks

The two sets are probably a good idea, even if you decide to run them in mono mode as they will keep the sound levels more even across the rooms.

Since in your situation there does not seem to be a good spot to hear stereo, I’d choose option 1 and keep the Amp in mono too.
