Ethernet Desktop PC will not connect to Wi-Fi Sonos speaker

Hi,

I have a PC connected to the home network through the ethernet. I have a Sonos speaker connected to the same network through a wi-fi connection. The speaker is visible on the network when accessed from mobile devices or a PC on wi-fi but my main desktop PC cannot find the Sonos system/speaker using desktop controller or apps like Spotify.

Please help!

Is your Ethernet using a different subnet or LAN?  If so, Sonos won’t be visible.

What make/model of router is it? It could be blocking discovery traffic between network segments.

The Ethernet and Wifi are on the same LAN - not sure what a subnet is!

Thank John - I have checked the Firewall - the fact that the speaker is visible to to other wi-fi devices seems to confirm it is getting access - tis only the PC that cannot see teh speaker

It’s the PC’s network interface we’re talking about. Try https://support.sonos.com/s/article/813

Thank you - however the speaker connecting to the Router is not the problem or the PC connecting to the Router - it is the PC talking to the speaker!

There appears to be some evidence -- admittedly anecdotal -- that the RT-AX88U could be interfering with the forwarding of discovery traffic between segments.
