no sonos radio going through amp  app controller saying no music selected

This is an operational issue.

Perhaps someone can make a video showing how to play SONOS Radio through the SONOS CONNECT.

Otherwise I suggest that you work with SONOS support. They can provide tighter feedback to you than we can provide through messaging. Also, if there is a hardware issue, support can detect this.

Assuming that there are no hardware issues with the SONOS CONNECT, you don’t need any additional hardware.

I think it’s best if you work with SONOS support because they can probe your system. Until then, don’t Factory Reset anything.

So you’re using an old Connect in the S1 App and trying to get it to play to speakers in the new Sonos App (S2) and/or vice versa. If so, then (sadly) it’s not possible, as the S1/S2 systems operate independently of each other and that’s why there are two separate Sonos Apps. Maybe downgrade one, or more, ‘compatible’ Sonos speakers to S1 and then go on from there… here’s the S1/S2 device compatibility list:

https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/sonos-app-version-compatibility

And here are the steps required to downgrade the compatible speakers, but that’s only if you perhaps want to go that route:

https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/downgrade-a-sonos-product-to-s1

Personally speaking, I think you might be much better off selling the Connect (gen1) and getting a Sonos Port (recommended) instead, or perhaps a more recent version of the Connect - a Connect (gen2), both will work in an S2 setup with your products in the new Sonos App.
