I am helping my father-in-law, her has an old Connect:Amp. It seems to be working to play music via the app, and I get output via the subwoofer port, but there is no Left or Right channel from the amp. Normal run is into the house speakers, but I have tried connecting a speaker directly and still no joy.

So it looks like the amp is dead on both channels. I am not familiar with Sonos products, but is there anything else to reset or settings that would prevent this?

As a side note I have not been able to configure anything because he does not know his password for Sonos (he is 81 with Alzheimer's). So at some point I will need to claim these devices (Connect:amp, Play:3, Beam Gen 2, Sub Gen 3) under another email without them being released from him. If that’s not possible then these gen1 devices are probably just junk at this point.

I can’t think of any ‘settings’ that would allow subwoofer output, but no speaker post output. I’d likely try to submit a system diagnostic , and call Sonos Support to discuss it.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution. A failure of the device might show up there, too.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

You may find some good info about transferring these devices by reading the manage your account FAQ.
