Hi

I’ve a Keff 400b Sub.
it’s a expensive sub.  Part of my old system.
I’ve moved over to Sonos. ( not sure if I’ve made the right move 🙈)

I’m using 2 x play5.  As stereo.
1 x Sonos sound bar

1 x play1

but I would like to use my existing Keff SuB

ive purchased a Sinos connect ( eBay. Second hand )

but it’s saying

This product is only compatible with the Sonos

S1 Controller. It isn't compatible with your Sonos S2 app.

so my question   Can I connect my sub as a sub within my Sonos system.
thx for any help you can give me.

Unfortunately, the KEF sub can only be connected to the Amp or Connect Amp when used as the main front speaker/device in a Sonos system. If you are using the S1 app (which I assume you are using because of the Play 5 speakers) both old and new amps will work in place of the soundbar.

But, when Amps are used for surrounds, the line in and sub outputs are  disabled:

You need a Connect:Amp (Gen2). A Connect will not support a sub.

The Sonos Amp has a Sub out.

Yes I am aware, but you can only connect a non-Sonos sub if the Amp/Connect Amp is the main speaker.

I think you could Group your Play 5s and the Connect (if you get an S2 compatible one) and use the Sub output then. No clue how it would sound or how frustrated you’d get changing volume levels.

When looking for an S2 Connect get the newest one you can as some of the older S2 compatible ones are iffy on memory due to age and memory errors.
