Hi,

I have an old ZonePlayer ZP80 that I’m hoping to use with my new Sony sound bar that has an AUX input to play music in my living room. It’s a HT-XF9000.

is this possible or would I need an amp like the ZP100/120 (have one of these too)?

thanks!

Assuming the ZP is still working and you have an S1 system it should be fine, you will just need an appropriate cable.

I’ve tried a white/red phono to 3.5mm Jack cable and nothing comes out of the soundbar. So I’m wondering does it need a boost/amp first?

No it should not need a boost/ amp.

If you haven't yet done so basic troubleshooting is the order of the day. Have you tried another cable, have you got something else you can plug into the soundboard, is the zp actually playing with the volume turned up, is the rca plugged into the out sockets.

If you unhook the cables from the ZP and touch just the ends, not the shield do you get a hum from the soundbar?
