I bought an open box AMP from Best Buy ($576) and a new AMP from Crutchfield ($599 Black Friday).

the packaging is different. The crutchfield one is in a brown, newer style package while the open box one is primarily black.

looking online it looks like Sonos has made no hardware changes it’s all software.

can anyone confirm that I’m good with both of these units? I want the newest hardware and am willing to return the BB open box and spend the additional 25 bucks for another one from crutchfield.

thanks in advance

I reckon that it’s just the packaging has become more eco-friendly and recyclable. If you setup both Amps you can see if their hardware versions are the same by navigating in the App to ‘Settings/System/About My System’ and look in the device list at their Hardware Version. Their Year & Month of manufacture are also shown in the first four digits of the serial number. HTH

Both are A107 and the year on open box is 2211CP while the crutchfield one is 2303CY.

Appears they are ~5 months apart.

thanks for the info, I think I’m good to go!!
